Conflux 4 (of sorts)

I’m using a linux os here (yay) and the computer doesn’t like me (boo) but with any luck this will come out ok in the wash (it did say 40 delicate)…

Overall the con was great, with me meeting lots of my flist (some boring stats to come when I’m back in Sveden) and getting to know them and new contacts over the course of the four five day event. Our book launch was a success (so I’ve been reliably informed) and we (or rather

) went on to sell a few more over the next few days.

There are lots of people to thank for their support and good wishes (for buying the book too) and all manner of stuff but I want to say a super-special thanks to

here for the huge amount of help and support over the weekend, especially considering the trauma she and Robert Hood had with their launch of Daikaiju 3 (which you’d better buy)! She was an absolute star and we also got to see the infamous wall of kitsch when we stayed with her and Rob in Wollongong the other day (notice the format Cat?).

The hotel was terrible as many have pointed out and I stood mouth agape at times, listening to the kids staff and their excuses for why coffees couldn’t be made, why they didn’t know what any spirits were and why I couldn’t get a Stella (as they’d been looking for a beer called Standard for an hour or so (well ten minutes at least))!

Anyway I am enjoying Sydney at the moment, with the lovely

taking great care of us, and looking forward to seeing

again on Sunday and other talented writers, as I gatecrash their writers’ group and try to look all writerly for them.

You’ll hear from me again… but not quite yet…
