Day Five: Matches Thirteen & Fourteen – Ivory Coast vs Portugal and Brazil vs North Korea [Predictions]

Back to old rivalries today and Portugal meet the Ivory Coast, just as they did in 2006. I’m expecting the Ivory Coast to put up a good fight here, against a European side that have not been impressive of late…and eventually lose.

Mark predicts: 1-3
Etina predicts: 0-2
Maddoc predicts: 2-2
Audrey predicts: 0-1

And how I would dearly love North Korea to beat Brazil. No, there is no real love for North Korea, just an abiding dislike for the most overrated team in world football. I agree they were cracking in 1970 (and before) but since then their reputation has most certainly preceded them and one of the highlights of World Cup history for me was seeing France give them a pasting they thoroughly deserved in the 1998 final!

However, they are not going to lose to North Korea are they, even though it would be the highlight of this World Cup if they were to pull it off.

Mark predicts: 3-0
Etina predicts: 2-0
Maddoc predicts: 3-3 (now that would be a fun match!)
Audrey predicts: 2-3 (that would be even better!)
