Going AWOL

It’s that time again, you have to promise not to miss me too much, as there is lots of planning in store for my close friend Tina’s (does not lj-exist (I love when lurvelille does that!)) visit from England tomorrow.

Which is followed by Maddoc’s 1st Birthday party on Monday (2nd) and a trip to Stockholm to see the wonderful Kristin Hersh, before another day in Stockholm on Tuesday…

Should be around sometime Wednesday (if you’re lucky!).

Ok flist, carry on…

BIG NEWS!!!

Well today the waiting was finally over,

and I got the green light on our publishing company, Eneit Press and I have to go in on Monday morning and give them a start date for the business!

It’s all a bit scary but pretty damn impressive too!

I’ll update with more later, for now I’m just in shock about the whole thing (I’m not sure

quite believed it either when we spoke)!

Once again thanks to all who took part in the marketing survey, it really made a difference and both the consultancy company and the small business advisor loved it and thought it was very in-depth and professional.

Special thanks go to

for her help with the business plan and cash flow estimate, they saved us hours of work and impressed those in question no end!

In other news, guess who took his first steps on Sunday evening and is now attempting to cover the whole flat on his two little peggies?

This has resulted in a few extra accidents, due to misjudging distances between safety points or simply losing balance at tricky times but it’s all going well!

Our car was taken to the scrapyard today too (manic day to say the least!) and we are now without a car again (thank god), I hope that means I can get rid of my mobile (cell) again, although starting my own business might make that hard! *winks*

There’s more coming, I just need to sit down and take all this in!

Celebration time once again!

Hello there pop pickers!

As part of my celebrations of living it and loving it on LJ for two years I’m going to redo something I did last year (I think it was to celebrate one year) and that is to open up 100% to the flist.

You have one question to ask me anything you want, something you wanted to ask but were afraid to. All bets are off, I have to answer… one question mind, if you ask one with a ‘and why’ attached I will only answer one of them (knowing me it will be the why)!

So I’m all yours (in a manner of speaking)…

Seeing as I love my polls (and quizzes of course)!

The quizzes are done…

… and the winners were:

morbidmusings won my lyric quiz, getting 7 points (pete23 was second with 5)

squirrel_monkey won my author quiz in super fast time, getting 34 points (pete23 was second again with 11 this time)

morbidmusings then won my film quiz (in extra time excitement) by getting 22 points and beating eneit, who had 21 points, with the last available points available!

Well done guys and thanks for taking part, it was lots of fun!

I think I’ll put up a poll tomorrow to see what’s coming next…

*winks*

Nearly (officially) over

There are now only two authors left and the clues make them super easy (one of them I amazed that no one has got yet)!

Author quiz

Maybe it will finish today and we can go back to banging our heads about the films…

I think I forgot to mention…

… that I posted a rather rambling post about Heroes in:

for those interested in the program.

Thank you and goodnight(sort of!)

Stuff in TV and Film land (no spoilers)

I have to say I like how

and

give their TV and film recommendations/reviews and have decided to follow suit by letting you know what I’ve been up to in film and TV land this week:

The Dresden Files: Series One – Episode 8 ‘Storm Front’
Oof, this was a really terrible episode, pain-inducing even. The program has had its ups and downs over recent weeks but I had to watch this one in about six sittings it was so tedious!

Battlestar Galactica: Series Three – Episode 19 ‘Crossroads Part One’
This has been an excellent program for some time now and doesn’t seem to be letting up. The episode had a few ooh and aah moments and I was shocked to find out tonight’s is the season finale… eek!

Supernatural: Series Two – Episode 17 ‘Heart’
I’ve been waiting for this particular episode since the start of season one (you’ll know what I mean when you watch it) and even though I was disappointed with quite a bit in the episode, the ending was a bit impressive! I really think they need to tie this up this season though as a third will be way too much (I still think they should have ended at the end of one as that would have been ace!).

House M.D.: Series One – Episode 1 ‘Pilot’
Thanks to

and

for ‘pushing’ me to see this, it was a very enjoyable episode and yes, I will be watching more!

Paris, je t’aime
An interesting concept: 18 short films about love, filmed in Paris, city of love. Some were great, some so so and some truly terrible (Wes Craven’s head on a plate anyone?). A film that although had its moments was a little unnecessary actually.

Eragon
Now I remember really enjoying the book, despite cries of “but he’s only 15 and it’s all plagiarism!” (Jesus, what isn’t in the world of fantasy these days?) but the film struggled greatly, with actors in the wrong positions, the director aiming for the LOTR grandeur with landscape shots (and failing miserably) and all in all not getting anyone excited about the next installment at all. The dragon looked cool though but then dragons are aren’t they?

Okay see ya, wouldn’t wanna be ya!

(Erm, where did that come from?)

Congratulations are in order!

And the winner is

, as it impossible for anyone to catch her in the author quiz!

A couple complained about how difficult it was in the beginning and I agreed but thought that the points would be spread out over the week; how wrong I was! In comes the monkey and wipes the floor with you all in two days!

Your book will be on its way soon but just in case the flist are still interested, there are three authors left and I intend to carry this on until they have all been guessed.

Well done

!
